DLP Module 1 – Introduction to Contracts

Gafta's Distance Learning Programme (DLP) is an alternative to Gafta Professional Development (GPD), designed for students who prefer flexible e-learning opportunities. It currently consists of six modules:

• Introduction to Contracts
• Fulfilling Contractual Obligations
• Payment and Risk
• Charterparties and International Carriage Regimes
• What to do in Exceptional Circumstances
• Problems and How to Resolve Them

Each module runs for approximately 12 weeks and is delivered through a series of tutorials, self-assessment exercises and marked exercises. In order to record a successful pass of each module you must pass all of the assignments.

If you fail an assignment you will be given one opportunity to resubmit it within 5 days. If you fail an assignment a second time you will be deemed to have failed the module; you will not be able to achieve an overall pass for the module and will be requested to retake the module at the next available date. Late submissions are subject to an additional fee.

Students are given up to 5 years to complete the full Distance Learning Programme.

If you have prepaid for all 6 modules, we will automatically enrol you on Module 1 however you will be required to register for each subsequent module as and when you are ready to take it.
